Global Warming? Or Global Hype?
March 24th, 2007This one I may piss a few people off because I do not accept the popular belief that is being pushed mostly by the political and business world. A little junk science and people will jump on the band wagon.
If I had to choose between 2 fiction movies one being Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth and the other being The Day After Tomorrow, I would have to go with The Day After Tomorrow. There is too much information out there from university text books to reference books to scientific publications that support this stance.
Go into any bookshop, library, or even check it out on the net and look up ice age and global warming together in same search line. Most will have a chart showing the cycles the earth has been in from geological record. We started to have global warming over 500,000 years ago. The earth goes through cycles of heat and cold about every 20,000 years. Right now we are in the middle of a heat cycle; of course we will be hot and have the shown drought we are going through right now. Many scientist are saying we are at the beginning of a new ice age.
Coastal plains have been underwater multiple times and there have been inland seas. Some of these events in geological time were very quick while others have taken ages for change.
No I’m not saying we are not effecting our environment, we are. Look at areas that have been arid to desert and with people moving in and having a need to have trees and grass they are adding huge amounts of moisture to the air and raising the humidity and making a micro environment around them. It is amazing how many areas that had low humidity year round are now having multiple days of high to oppressive humidity several days a year now.
Many climate and weather conditions can be attributed to deforestation of the continents. There is not one continent that has not been majority affected by cutting down massive amounts of trees and tilling in the broad leaf prairie grasses.
